Coffee Tree

Coffee Tree has recently opened a location in Cuenca, a café chain that enjoys immense popularity in Quito. They scored a prime location here in Cuenca, right in the heart of nightlife and foot-traffic, on Calle Larga y Borrero. If they’re looking to attract expats and travelers, their business model is spot-on, as their large outdoor seating area is akin to the cafés we sometimes miss. And considering the location, it is one of the best people-watching spots in town.

They additionally offer a large, Western-style food menu with mid-range prices. Their prices are comparatively cheap to “back home,” but your U.S. dollar will go much further at other restaurants/cafés in town. They also offer a daily happy hour that’s worth checking out if you’re fancying a cheap drink on an outdoor patio.

The free WiFi is also a big hit with locs and expats alike, a mostly relaxed atmosphere to pound away on your laptop.

Coffee Tree is almost always open — quite early to quite late.
